Terms of Service
Version 2026-10 · Last updated October 2026
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between [ShiftChores legal entity] (“ShiftChores”, “we”) and the business that signs up for ShiftChores (“Customer”, “you”). The person who signs up confirms they can bind the business to these terms.
2. The service
ShiftChores is software for sharing out chores among a business’s staff by shift, with check-in, approvals, rewards and reports. You can add managers and employees (“Users”). You’re responsible for who you invite and for what they do in your account.
3. Trial, plans and payment
- New accounts get a free trial (currently 14 days). No payment is taken during the trial.
- Plans are priced by the number of active employees and billed monthly or yearly in advance through our payment processor (Stripe). Prices are shown on the Billing page and may change with at least 30 days’ notice; a change applies from your next billing period.
- Plan changes are prorated. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise or we say so in writing.
- If a payment fails, the account keeps working for a grace period (currently 7 days). After that it becomes read-only until payment is made. We don’t delete data because of a late payment.
- Fees exclude taxes, which you’re responsible for unless we collect them.
4. Your data
You own the data you and your Users put into ShiftChores (“Customer Data”), including schedules, chores, check-ins, timing and photos. You give us permission to host and process it only to provide and improve the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your data at any time from Settings. You’re responsible for having the right to collect it — including telling your employees that chores are timed and may need photo proof, where the law requires.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service: no unlawful use, no attempts to break or overload it, no access to other customers’ data, and no use to harass or unlawfully monitor anyone.
6. Availability and support
We aim to keep ShiftChores available and to fix problems promptly, but the service is provided without a guaranteed uptime unless agreed in writing. We may change features over time; we won’t remove a core feature you rely on without reasonable notice.
7. Suspension and termination
You can cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period. We may suspend an account for non-payment, for a serious breach of these terms, or to protect the service or other customers, and will tell you why. After an account ends, you can ask us to export or delete its data; we delete it within [90] days unless the law requires us to keep it.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses, and each party’s total liability is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll give at least 30 days’ notice of material changes by email or in the app.
10. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of [state/country]. Questions: support@shiftchores.com.
